»Miró 360°« allows you to view selected sculptures in the exhibition catalog vividly on your mobile phone. A circumnavigation and a closer exploration of the sculptures, their materiality and plasticity is possible as a special Augmented Reality experience, even at home.

With »Mirós Monster« you can, like Joan Miró collected and composed everyday objects for his sculptures, use your mobile phone in the exhibition »MIRÓ - World of Monsters« in the Max Ernst Museum Brühl des LVR to scan stickers and collect objects to complete your very own virtual monster.

The app »Miró 2.0« is a collaboration of the Max Ernst Museum Brühl des LVR with the Cologne Game Lab of TH Cologne.

The Spanish artist Joan Miró was born in Barcelona. He produced a fascinating spectrum of depictive means that stand out for their diversity and power of invention. The exhibition entitled MIRÓ – World of Monsters is concerned in particular with the sculptures Miró created in the 1960s and 1970s. These works are less well-known than his paintings and works on paper.
The sculptures are combinations of everyday objects that the artist has found and made into fantastical creatures; these are then cast in bronze. Some have been painted in bright colors, so that it feels as if Mirós gaily colored paintings have come to life. For Miró, these creatures belong to his »phantasmagoric world of living monsters«. Together with a selection of paintings and works on paper, they show Mirós mastery of all genres. The exhibition is an exclusive cooperation with Fondation Maeght, which is based in Saint-Paul-de-Vence in the south of France. With over 160 pieces, the foundation has one of the most extensive collections of Joan Mirós sculptures.
